Type B Shipping Containers The National Isotope Development Center Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is in need of Type B shipping containers that will be used to ship different types of isotopes. The containers must be less than 200 kilograms in weight. The Type B containers have to be tested to accident conditions and must be certified by the NRC, DOE or equivalent EU regulatory agency. Each Type B shipping container must have an associated Safety Analysis Report for Packaging that details the design, shielding capabilities, thermal loading, and a list of approved content (radioisotopes and quantities). The Type B container must come with a certificate of compliance.
