The work will result in the following deliverables; Demonstrate NMR measurements with DC SQUIDs and 207Pb spin ensemble in ferroelectric PMN-PT. Demonstrate accelerated nuclear spin ensemble thermalization by light-induced paramagnetic centers. Design a scheme for maximizing spin ensemble quantum state purity: thermal polarization or dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) via light-induced paramagnetic centers. Optimize the decoupling scheme for maximizing spin ensemble coherence time. Integrate RQUs with spin ensembles, optimize coupling, and study sensitivity improvements with untuned and tuned circuits. Identify optimal material systems for fundamental discovery with NMR and spin ensembles. Determine sensitivity scaling with sample dimensions and with magnetic resonance frequency. Achieve sensitivity to spin dynamics at the level of spin projection noise and evaluate schemes to improve sensitivity further. Deliverables The deliverables will be oral reports and “Application Notes” for use by the collaboration and for incorporation into publications. Refereed papers will describe the scientific results, as appropriate.
