The platform must be replaced before any work is performed by craft personnel using the Bronto Skylift truck. The new insulated HDT Steel model platform must be a Bronto manufactured part to replace existing damaged platform. WAPA has determined that using off-market or parts from another manufacturer may jeopardize the safe and effective functioning of this Bronto Skylift. The mismatching of the Bronto manufactured platform with a non-Bronto replacement platform creates a valid safety concern. Only original equipment manufactured parts will be suitable. In accordance with the authority at FAR 13.106-1(b), the CO has determined that the circumstances of this requirement deem only genuine brand name parts will fulfill the needs of the Government.
