The APS-Upgrade (APS-U) superconducting undulators incorporate cryocoolers to absorb the heat loads to the cryostat. Flexible highly thermally conductive links or straps are used to connect the cryocoolers to the internal assemblies of the cryostat to transport the heat absorbed in the assemblies to the cryocoolers. These links connect the 2nd. Stage of the cryocoolers to the cryostat 4K cold mass and provide mounting for the 4K end of the HTS current leads, with a thermal conductivity of 4 W / K or greater. There are three different link assemblies. Two of the assemblies are mirror images of each other, a “right” and a “left”, which are shown in attached drawings.
