BSA is looking to identify suppliers who can manufacture copper cladded stainless-steel laminated coil. This process of mechanically joining dissimilar metals is known as cold-rolled cladding/Roll Bonding. Section 1 - Co-laminated Material The final width, thickness and tolerances of the copper clad stainless-steel material shall be as shown in the technical requirements below. Technical Requirements: • A continuous forming process shall be used. Care shall be taken not to damage the copper layer. • Electrical resistivity of the copper layer shall have a (RRR ? 50) • Stainless steel thickness 0.92 ±0.02 mm • Copper thickness 0.08 ±0.02 mm • Total thickness tolerance 1.0 ±0.03 mm • Co-laminated strip width 203.2 ±0.03 mm • Total length of clad material 4.3 km • Stainless steel elongation at break > 40 % (after annealing) • Roughness Average (Ra) stainless steel ? 0.8 ?m (free from fingerprints) • Ra copper ? 0.2 ?m (free from fingerprints) • The maximum acceptable defect size in the copper layer is indicated in Table 1 below See Attachment A for further specifications and requirements.
