ADVANCED LITHIUM METAL PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY COMPETITIVE LICENSING OPPORTUNITY REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Y-12 National Security Complex is seeking proposals for a phased licensing process to develop and commercialize its Low Temperature Lithium Metal Production Technology, which operates below 100°C with over 98.8% purity and significant energy savings. The opportunity progresses from non-exclusive Research and Development licenses to a single exclusive commercial license, awarded to the entity that meets defined technical and business milestones. Proposals must demonstrate technical capability, commercialization strategy, organizational and financial readiness, with a suggested period of performance for R&D activities of 12-24 months. Only U.S.-owned and U.S.-controlled entities with U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident personnel are eligible. Performance of services would occur at the licensee’s facilities, with potential limited support from Y-12 at its Tennessee site.
