The Y-12 National Security Complex is seeking proposals for a phased licensing process to develop and commercialize its Low Temperature Lithium Metal Production Technology, which operates below 100°C with over 98.8% purity and significant energy savings. The opportunity progresses from non-exclusive R&D licenses to a single exclusive commercial license, with R&D activities expected over 12-24 months. Proposals must demonstrate technical capability, commercialization strategy, and organizational and financial readiness. Only U.S.-owned and U.S.-controlled entities with U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident personnel are eligible. Performance of services would occur at the licensee’s facilities, with potential limited support from Y-12.
