SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory has a requirement for the following item in the quantity of one each. Combined Electron TOF Spectrometer / TOF Mass Spectrometer ETF15: Electron TOF Spectrometer Part: •Time resolution deltaT/T < 1% •electron energy range 10 eV – 100 eV •Fieldfree drift region with ca. 300 mm length, encapsulated in a ?-metal shield •Drift region can be floated to a potential of up to - 180/ + 180 V for decelerating / accelerating the electrons. Electrons are decelerated to get longer flight times and accelerated if the effect of magnetic fields on slow electrons has to be reduced •Post-acceleration stage in front of the detector to get a uniform sensitivity for all electrons irrespective of their kinetic energy and to reduce the effects of the magnetic field penetrating from the back through the ?-metal shield •The electron beam entering through the entrance aperture is collimated in an extraction module, the electron acceptance angle (full angle) is 30° TOF Mass Spectrometer Part: The extraction module consists of a two-stage ion acceleration system according to Wiley-McLaren and a focussing lens to collimate the extracted particle beam. The ionization takes place in the middle between the repeller and the extractor plate. For electron spectroscopy the ionization occurs in fieldfree space. For mass spectrometry a positive voltage (ca. +200 V) is applied to the repeller and 2a negative voltage (ca. -200 V) to the extractor i.e. the ionization zone lies on the 0V-potential plane and a grounded capillary can be used for gas inlet. The extracted ions are subsequently accelerated in a second stage to their pass energy of max. 3000 eV. A mass resolution M/deltaM > 500 can be achieved. Ions with masses up to ca. 1000 a.m.u. can be analysed. General: •Removable extractor plate (to be replaced by gas jet housing) •Channelplate detector with two-stage chevron geometry, channelplates with 5 ?m pore size for fast response times, 40 mm active diameter •Only completely non-magnetic materials are used for the spectrometer, most of the parts including the drift tube and all screws are made from titanium •The tof spectrometer has a complete ?-metal shielding including the detector region •An additional ?-metal shield for shielding the interaction region (tube with through holes for laser and gas jet) is provided •The only connection between the ionisation chamber and the tof chamber is the 3 mm entrance aperture which allows to pump the tof spectrometer differentially •The vacuum chamber of the spectrometer is manufactured from non-magnetic stainless steel 1.4429 (equivalent to 316 LN). It consists of a 6” od conflat (CF100)connection flange, a 6” od conflat (CF100) pump flange (CF100) and a 2.75” od conflat flange (CF38) for metering the pressure inside the tof. •The distance between the tof connection flange and the laser focus is 354 mm, the distance between repeller and extraction plate is 12 mm •High voltage power supply in a 19” box, 3HE (132 mm) high, 500 mm deep. All the polarities of the high voltages are reversed with a single switch •Including all high voltage cables (set of 8 cables) Option: Length of drift tube 700 mm, distance between the tof connection flange and the laser focus remains 354 mm Shipping Incoterm CIP Quote is for product only no on-site services of any kind permitted. Source selection will be based on Lowest Priced. The bid closing date for this requirement is July 03, 2020 @ 5pm PST. Buy American Act Certification (BAA) is required – complete and return.
