The ALCF is pursuing a storage system with a high level of performance to meet the demands of diverse exascale computing, including simulation, machine-learning and deep-learning workloads. The solution should deliver a means for data lifecycle management across a single or multiple storage tiers, a usable capacity of ~230PB, and a bandwidth of at least ~ 25 TB/s. The ALCF is interested in a single fast tier of storage for this solution, but is also interested in seeing any options that would satisfy our requirements, including those that are built on multiple storage tiers. The storage system should support connectivity to Linux based OS platforms. Your response should provide detailed explanations and architectural diagrams describing how this will be accomplished. The response must detail what can be delivered by a 1Q2022 delivery target.
