The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gain information on current industry capabilities for creating and implementing a system that can support, in totality, the processing of Federal Student Aid (FSA) applications. FSA plans to modernize its Central Processing System (CPS), which currently receives information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) and other federal systems to calculate applicants’ Expected Family Contribution (EFC). FSA will modernize CPS under the Award Eligibility Determination (AED) system, the subject of this RFI. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS AN RFI ONLY. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a request for proposal (RFP), or a promise to issue a RFP in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supplier service whatsoever. Further, the Government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding Government in any way. The Government has not made a commitment to procure any of the RFI requirements discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or authorization to incur costs for which reimbursement would be required or sought.
