The Institute of Education Sciences and the U.S. Department of Education anticipate a 2026 Phase IB solicitation for developing and evaluating a new component to integrate with an existing education technology prototype or product. This contract offers $250,000 for a 9-month performance period. Successful Phase IB awardees will be eligible to apply for a subsequent Phase II award of $1,000,000 in 2027. The program seeks groundbreaking, high-risk approaches to solve pressing problems in education, specifically for products used by learners, educators, or administrators. The same day will see the release of three other related solicitations: Phase IA, Direct to Phase II, and Phase II.
