The United States Air Force (USAF) seeks to establish a new contract to provide the Vietnam Air Defense Air Force (ADAF) with 3 trainer aircraft as well as a Total Package Approach to operate and sustain, and establish a modern Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) Program based on the U.S. Air Force pilot training model. The delivery of the 3 trainer aircraft is anticipated to be required no later than (NLT) mid-2023. Pending funding authorization, additional aircraft may be purchased via a follow on contractual vehicle. This program will attempt to maximize, to the maximum extent practical, the instructional material, pilot and maintenance training approaches and simulation devices established by the USAF. The strategic relationship of this program between the USAF and Vietnam are critical to security assistance and cooperation in the region.
