The 176th Air Wing, Alaska Air National Guard, JBER, AK, intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single firm fixed-price contract for Construct Lightning Protection, at the 176th Wing, Alaska Air National Guard, JBER, AK. Work consists of installation of a lightning protection system on the exterior of a 109,000 SF aircraft maintenance hangar. The magnitude of the project is between $100,000 - $250,000. A bid bond in the amount of 20% of the offer is required. The total Construction duration is anticipated to be 8 months after notice to proceed for the base contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this work is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. This will be a total small business set- aside. The small business size standard is $36.5 million average annual revenue. Your attention is directed to FAR CLAUSE 52.219-14 (b) (4) LIMITATIONS ON SUBCONTRACTING which states "By submission of an offer and execution of a contract, the Offeror /Contractor agrees that in performance of the contract the concern will perform at least 15 percent of the cost of the contract, not including the cost of materials, with its own employees" applies to this project. The tentative date for issuing the solicitation is on or about 7 August 2019. The tentative date for an organized site visit is 13 August 2019 at the Alaska Air National Guard, JBER, AK. The meeting location and time is to be determined. Interested contractors are encouraged to attend and shall follow base access requirements shown in the solicitation. The solicitation closing date is scheduled for on-or-about 9 September 2019. Actual dates and times will be identified in the solicitation.
