This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes only. The United States (US) Government is seeking sources in order to determine a sole-source justification for Alcon Vision LLC which is a large business. 1. The resulting information will be used to determine if there are sufficient resources to support a sole-source for the solicitation, and award of the contract. The US Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice. Submittals will not be returned to the responder; not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any further RFQ; IFB or RFP if issued. 2. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing). The business size standard is 1,000 employees. All contractors doing business with the Department of Defense shall be registered and approved through the System for Award Management (SAM). The contracting activity is the Regional Health Command Atlantic (RHCO-A), Womack Army Medical Center Contracting Cell, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Alcon Vision was chosen for the products as they are currently the only manufacturer of an FDA-approved trifocal IOL. In order to have access to Alcon Phaco packs and other Alcon products in related to eye surgery, these are required for the Centurion machines. Without these brand-specific packs and any other Alcon items that are crucial to the success of the surgery, we cannot perform cataract surgery.
