Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC), Fort Bragg, North Carolina 28310, has a requirement for a new service contract to pay a one-time Tri-annual accreditation fees for four mammography units in WAMC to legally perform mammograms in the United States. Mammography at Womack Army Medical Center is required by federal law to maintain accreditation as designated by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA). The American College of Radiology (ACR) is sole agency responsible for conducting this survey and reporting to the FDA. The Mammography section must meet accreditation standards and undergo a survey agreement and image inspection that is mailed to the ACR in order to be accredited through the FDA. This is a federally mandated law that has been required every three years since 1989. The service must be performed 30 days after date of contract.
