Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) intends to Sole Source a requirement to purchase ICL Injector and Visian Toric ICL Lenses to STAAR Surgical. The required Lenses are for surgical procedures scheduled from 01 June 2021 through 31 October 2021. The Visian Toric ICL is designed to be permanently placed in the eye; however, the lens can be removed if the patient’s vision changes or if it otherwise needs to be removed or replaced. The MICROSTAAR injector contains a plunger style advance, or a micrometer style advance, that can be resterilized for multiple use. The injector is made of an autoclavable plastic and accepts only STAAR cartridges. These injectors are sold sterile, and packaged 10 per carton. This system was designed specifically for easy loading and smooth delivery of STAAR IOLs through small incisions. Whether using micrometer precision, or the tactile feel of a syringe, the MICROSTAAR Injector System achieve excellence in foldable lens implantation.
