After the test is completed, data from the receiver is uploaded to pH analysis software using infrared technology. Use: The pH monitoring system is a minimally invasive test for evaluation of heartburn or related symptoms. A capsule is placed into the esophagus using a delivery device. The test is catheter-free after the placement of the capsule. Throughout the testing period of 48 to 96 hours the pH capsule will measure the pH in the esophagus and transmit the information to a small recorder worn on the belt or waistband. Once the test is complete the recorder data will be uploaded to a computer and the information analyzed so that the provider can diagnose the condition.
