At this time, if another vendor attempted to provide the required service, the possibility is likely that a lapse in service would occur due to costs and time-consuming transition related functions. A lapse in coverage would translate to Infection Control deficiencies, Joint Commission adverse findings and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) violations, which would demand closure of the Kirk Army Health Clinic. Failure to provide the needed services could ultimately jeopardize patient care and mission accomplishment.
