NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT, UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF SUBPART 13:5- Only One Responsible Source and no other Supplies or services will satisfy Agency Requirement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Ft. Belvoir, VA intends to enter into a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract with Comcast of Maryland, LLC, for the procurement continued cable television reception and addition of hotspot (Access Points/routers) to allow wireless internet connectivity for MEDDAC patients at each of the aforementioned facilities which will run on separate networks so that the services can be provided securely. Comcast is the only cable provider that is authorized to provide cable and internet service for health and dental clinics on the following installations: Fort Detrick, MD, Carlisle Barracks, PA, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, Fort Myer, VA, and Fort McNair, VA. The cable infrastructure is so well established in each locations that changing or removing its connectivity would result in a lengthy disruption of service. As evidenced in the sole source justification provided by the requiring activity to confirm there is franchise agreement with Comcast provider servicing the facility. The period of performance will be base year with four option years. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 515210. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the government.
