This is a non-personnel services contract to provide for the repair of wood shake/shingle roofs on the Blacksmith Shop, F & I War Station, 1812 Blockhouse, Pine Cottage Civil War (CW) cabin and replace torn/damaged felt paper soffits on the WWII Barracks exhibits at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC). The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn is responsible to the Government. Description of Services/Introduction: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items, as well as non-personal services necessary to perform the roof repair on the Blacksmith Shop, F & I War Station, 1812 Blockhouse, Pine Cottage CW cabin, and the soffit repair on the WWII Barracks exhibits at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) as defined in this Performance Work Statement (PWS) except for those items specified as government furnished property and services. The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract. The Contractor shall provide standard one-year warranties for defective workmanship and materials. All work shall meet required safety codes and environmental standards. The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) in support of the U.S. Army War College is a unique and diverse organization. The Army Heritage Trail (AHT), a mile long interpretive trail, tells the Army’s story through historical exhibit venues from the French and Indian War period through Afghanistan War. Significant exhibits on the AHT include the Blacksmith Shop, F & I War Station, 1812 Blockhouse, Pine Cottage CW cabin, and the WWII Barracks exhibits that recreate the venues of those periods of history. It is mission essential that the roofs, soffits and supporting trim of these exhibits be repaired to prevent water from entering the exhibits, enhancing their long-term preservation. Contractor shall verify all measurements given in this PWS. All work shall conform to the existing appearance and configuration to maintain the correct historic appearance of these exhibits. Contractor shall provide for the repair of the roofs of the Blacksmith Shop, F & I War Station, 1812 Blockhouse, Pine Cottage CW cabin and WWII Barracks exhibits to the specifications in this PWS.
