The Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT), part of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI), provide technical maintenance oversight to the Eastern Caribbean Area of Operation (AOR). The Partner Nations (PN) of Grenada is currently in need of replacement inboard engine for one of their utility vessels. These vessels operate in level 3 to level 5 sea states and varying river conditions. The PN conducts extensive maritime operations enforcing countries maritime laws, with special emphasis on illicit drug trafficking. Other law enforcement duties include enforcement of immigration, customs, fisheries, and wildlife protection laws and on-scene coordinator for maritime search and rescue. The new engine will enable the PN personnel to increase operational hours and increase crew safety during adverse sea conditions.
