Iron Stable Isotope Analysis
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) Alaska Research Office seeks a contractor to analyze up to 40 water samples from thawing permafrost areas for iron (Fe) stable isotopes (56Fe and 57Fe) using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS). The contractor will receive samples collected by CRREL during summer 2026 (June-September) and must complete all analyses by 1 March 2027, with work performed at the contractor's facility (no travel required). Services include sample reception, cold storage, quality assessment, sample preparation, analysis, data processing/QC, and reporting of raw and processed data. The solicitation is full and open competition (NAICS 541380) with a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) award evaluation considering technical capability and price. Offerors must be registered in SAM and demonstrate experience with iron isotope analysis of natural waters containing colloidal organic matter.
