Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Sensor Deployment

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a sole-source contract to Mount Washington Observatory for site access, field support, and data products to support a fiber optic sensor deployment near the summit of Mount Washington, New Hampshire, beginning in 2026. The performance period includes a 12-month base period and three 12-month option periods. The contractor must provide field support, meteorological data products, site access for up to 10 CRREL personnel, and deployment and maintenance support. The Observatory is deemed the only capable source due to its unique extreme environment, continuous year-round summit access, dense sensor network, and proximity to key staff.
