The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Exyn Technologies, Inc. upon the basis of the authority provided at FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). ERDC-CRREL intends to acquire a requirement for an Exyn Technologies ExynPak Standalone Mapping System, accessories for the operation of the system from both hand-carry and vehicle mounted platforms, and system training and extended warranty. The system shall have the following technical and performance specifications: Lidar data acquisition utilizing simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) processing techniques that is not dependent on external GPS/positional measurements Integrated system that includes the lidar scanner, integrated visible-spectrum camera(s), acquisition software, onboard real-time data processing and battery > 500 GB onboard data storage External display for operation of sensor and real-time data coverage results System that is < 10 kg for hand-carry operations Accessory mount for installing the sensor on a moving ground vehicle Operation from a single battery for +2-hours Swappable battery for extended survey periods in remote locations Ability to tie resulting point cloud data to a global coordinate system using external reflector targets Operating temperature down to -20o C Class 1 laser: no eye safety precautions required >250k pulses per second Dual return laser with intensity (range-independent reflectance) Final processed point cloud accuracy performance of 5cm or better Measurement range up to 100m 360 o field of view (laser) Data output in *.las file format Trajectory output 3D data colorized by onboard visible-spectrum camera(s) Data transfer via Wi-Fi or wired connection 1-year warranty on the system and accessories On-site training in Hanover, New Hampshire after receipt of the system Shipping case for all equipment Exyn Technologies was identified as the only vendor capable of offering a standalone mapping systems capable of meeting the requisite technical and performance specifications and interoperability requirements with CRREL’s existing mapping systems. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334519, which has a size standard of 500 employees. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Any interested party that believes they can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed. All submissions will be considered, however there is no guarantee that submissions in response to this notice will in any way alter the Government's acquisition strategy.
