This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center-Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) has a requirement to procure one Benchtop Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with an Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDS) Detector, specifically the Phenom Pharos G2 Desktop FEG-SEM by Thermo Fisher Scientific, as well as any software required to run SEM system exports and any additional equipment required to operate SEM system. While there are several options for scanning electron microscopes, market research has found that the Thermo Fisher Scientific Phenom Pharos G2 Desktop FEG-SEM is the only brand of equipment that meets all of the government’s requirements which are detailed in the attached brand name justification.Please review the attached Request for Quotes and Brand Name Justification documents for full details on the requirement, for applicable clauses and provisions, and for evaluation criteria for offers received.
