The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) has a requirement to procure COMSOL Multiphysics brand name software licenses as required by the specifications in the attached RFQ and Brand Name Justification. The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center-Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) has a requirement to procure COMSOL Multiphysics software with add-on modules including AC/DC Module, MEMS Module, Microfluidics Module, Chemical Reaction Engineering Module and Material Library. ERDC-CERL intends to sole source this acquisition in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) to COMSOL Multiphysics. Market research has indicated that COMSOL Multiphysics is the only company to offer microfluidics module software that brings easily-operated tools for studying microfluidic devices. The physics can be coupled and solved simultaneously with any other built-in or user-defined interface to truly model multiphysics phenomena in a way that is unique to a particular field or industry. Applications include simulations of lab-on-a-chip devices, digital microfluidics, electrokinetic and magnetokinetic devices, and inkjets. This is not a request for proposal and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 511210 which has a size standard of $41.5M. This is not a small business set aside.
