This is a contract to construct a composite repository cover over approximately 13 acres at the Callahan Mine Superfund Site in Brooksville, Maine. The primary work involves installing a multi-layer cap system to limit water infiltration into historical copper mine waste. The cap's specified components include, from the surface down: 12 inches of crushed stone, a geocomposite drainage layer, a 60-mil textured geomembrane, and geofabric. Additional activities may include installing drainage features, grading, seeding, stockpile management, and wetland improvements.
