This project has a hopper dredge (with pump-out capability) only requirement and consists of maintenance dredging and advance maintenance dredging to remove approximately 80,000 cubic yards (cy) of clean sand and gravel from areas in the authorized, 32 foot deep by 500 foot wide, main-ship channel (Canal); the 25-foot-deep East Mooring Basin (EMB), and the 32-foot-deep West Mooring Basin (WMB) features of the Cape Cod Canal, FNP along with the placement of dredged material in a beach fill design on Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, MA. Dredging in the Canal and the EMB and WMB will be to a maximum elevation of -40? Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) and remove approximately 80,000 cubic yards of sand and gravel. The material dredged from the FNP will be hauled to the east end of the Canal and pumped directly onto Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, MA. where it will be graded. Additional work requested by the Town of Sandwich including sand fence placement and dune plantings will be included as an optional bid item. The dredging and dredged material placement work is expected to take 6-8 weeks to complete. This will be an unrestricted invitation for bid (IFB) requiring a hydraulic hopper dredge to perform the dredging work and heavy equipment to perform the beach fill grading. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990 with a size standard of $37M. The estimated construction cost is expected to range from $5,000,000 - $10,000,000.
