The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contract to Rehabilitate Highway Lights on the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges, located in Bourne and Sandwich, MA. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238120 (Size Standard $16.5 Million). The period of performance will span from the fall of 2020 through November 2021. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. The primary purpose of the project is to address unacceptable corrosion of steel supports at highway lights on both bridges. Corrosion resulted in the failure (toppling) of one Sagamore Bridge light post in December 2017 during a period of strong winds. The project will also include other lighting and fall protection repairs. This project has the following major components: Repair steel bases for light towers Replace clamping hardware and conduit for lights clamped to suspender cables Replace fixtures on Bourne bridge with LED fixtures Replace ladders in bridge abutments (both bridges) and repair one ladder on Bourne bridge Install Horizontal Life Line along catwalk underneath each bridge. All lights repaired as part of items 1 through 3 above to be re-wired from hand hole beneath sidewalk to fixture. Please note that this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses.
