The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier Canal Gate Rehab project at Fox Point Hurricane Barrier, located in Providence, RI The NAICS code for the work described below is 238290. The project is planned to be issued in June 2020 and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The period of performance will be approximately 1 year long occurring in the summer or fall of 2020. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project has the following major components. Refurbishment of the two canal gates at the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier Replacement of the existing wheels with new stainless wheel assemblies along with self-lubricating bushings and washers Furnishment and installation of new rubber seals with new stainless steel mounting plates and hardware Solvent cleaning, dry abrasive blasting to White Metal grade, and painting of all metal surfaces Installation and deinstallation of stop gates required for the closure of the canals Disassembly and reassembly of actuators and lifting mechanisms for each canal gate Please note that this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents which will include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about June 2020.
