North Springfield Lake Dam Replace Conduits and Witing The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the replacement of conduits and wiring at the North Springfield Lake Dam in North Springfield, Vermont. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238210 (Size Standard $16.5 Million). The project is planned to be issued in May 2020, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The construction will extend over a two-month period occurring in the summer or fall of 2020. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. This project has the following major components. Remove and replace the existing telephone cable extending from the project office along overhead utility poles through the conduit system to the gatehouse. Install new fiber optic cable alongside new telephone cable. Install associated fiber optic termination equipment. Remove and replace the existing power conductors extending from the utility transformers to the gatehouse. Remove and replace the existing conduits under the spillway access bridge to include pull boxes, expansion joints, and hangers. Remove and replace the existing strong motion power and communication conduits from the pull box to approximately ten feet past the point of burial. Remove and replace (2) disconnect switches. Remove existing abandoned conduit and associated conductors if present. Remove and replace the existing power, instrumentation and communication conduits from the dam crest abutment to the gatehouse. These conduits are affixed underneath the service bridge. Install new enclosure inside telephone manhole for instrumentation cabling. Install new instrumentation cable from the new instrumentation enclosure to the gatehouse. Please note that this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents which will include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about May 2020. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the SAM.Beta.GOV (https://beta.sam.gov/).
