The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contract for Concrete Repairs to Stairs in Crossover Gallery at the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier, located in New Bedford, MA. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238110 (Size Standard $16.5 Million). The project is planned to be issued in July 2020, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The period of performance will span from the fall of 2020 through spring 2021, with construction permitted between March 1, 2021 and June 1, 2021. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. The New Bedford Hurricane Barrier has a cross over gallery running underneath the channel connecting the east and west operating houses. The stairs leading down to the cross over gallery in each operating house are in need of repair, as well as several other miscellaneous concrete repairs. This project has the following major components. Remove existing damaged steel stair treads on damaged stairs in both sides of the crossover gallery and patch with polymer-modified concrete. Remove unsound concrete on damaged stairs in both sides of the crossover gallery and patch with polymer-modified concrete. Repair the cracked area of the concrete wall near the floor in the east Operating House No. 2. Repair spalled area in bottom level of crossover gallery (area A24), including temporary relocation of wall mounted conduit, demolition of damaged concrete and removal of deteriorated embedded conduit within the limits of the patch, and installation of rebar and patch material. Please note that this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses. This is not a request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents which will include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about July 2020. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation offerors must access the System for Award Management website (beta.sam.gov).
