The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a set aside for certified small business contractors for the Electrical Upgrades project at the Hodges Village Lake, located in Oxford, Massachusetts. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238210 (Size Standard $15.0 Million). The project is planned to be issued in March 2019, and will be set aside for Small Businesses. The construction will extend over a one-month period occurring in the spring or summer of 2019. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. This project has the following major components. 1.Demolish and remove the existing switchboard that is currently in the gatehouse. Install a new power panel in the gatehouse. Reuse the existing feeder conductors. 2.Install new Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). 3.Seal the openings where the electric and signal conductors enter the operating level in the gatehouse. This is to prevent rodent intrusion into the conduits. 4.Seal the openings where the electric and signal conductors go into the conduits at the manhole at the service bridge entrance. 5.Complete concrete coring through the concrete floor of the gatehouse in order to run conduits from the upper level through to the lower level. 6.Demolish newer lighting panel and associated feeder conduits. Panel location is not compliant with the National Electrical Code. 7.Replace in kind all branch circuit wiring from the power panel to the first device in each circuit. 8.Replace incandescent lighting fixtures in the gatehouse with LED industrial fixtures, 4 on the top level and 3 on the second level. 9.Provide and install two emergency lighting units that are battery-powered on the inside of the gatehouse. One lighting unit will be located on the operating level and one is to be located on the lower level. 10.Provide and install electric heating unit in the top floor (operating level) of the gatehouse. 11.Install two LED vandal-proof light fixtures on the front of the building on existing fixture plates, to be controlled by a motion-sensor on the roof. 12.Reconfigure the Lightning Protection system located on the roof of the gatehouse.
