The United States Government is inquiring information on the construction of an aviation hangar in lieu of a clamshell. The design requirements for the aviation hangar are as followed: Minimum Building Dimensions: 150’ L x 75’ W x 25’ H Doors: two (typical spec) man doors; one located on each of the 150’ side two 60’ W x 20’ H clearance sliding doors; one located at each end of the 75’ side Structural Loading: Pursuant to Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 3-301-01 Dated October 1st 2019 the ground snow load for our elevation of 1650’ is 30 PSF and under ASCE/SEI 7-16 (2017 edition) the building should be designed to handle wind loads of 98MPH. Answers to Vendors' Questions: 1. Could you kindly define the structure to be used for the aviation hangar, is it a prefabricated or a tent hangar? Are the frames going to be constructed by hot dip galvanized steel tubing? What will the outer layer be, a flame retardant heavy duty fabric? Could we have a more detailed analysis on what is the need? Prefer prefab type building. The structure can be of any style, so long as it’s fabricated and constructed in a way that meets our wind/snow loads, capable of not deteriorating in weather and meets our dimensional requirements.
