The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, anticipates a firm-fixed-price construction contract for replacement of the Rough River Lake Axtel Wastewater Treatment Plant. The work includes complete demolition and decommissioning of the existing wastewater treatment plant and construction of a new subsurface sewage treatment and dispersal facility. Major features include precast septic tanks, lift/dose/holding tanks, a packaged aerobic treatment unit/advanced wastewater treatment system, soil drip dispersal, gravity and pressure piping, and associated valves and manifolds. The contract also covers electrical service and controls, including coordination with Meade County RECC, NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosures, surge protection, alarms, site grading, erosion control, fencing, and site restoration. An optional unit-priced line item is included for rock excavation per cubic yard.
