Mechanical renovation project at Defense Supply Center Columbus. The project involves the addition of a piping loop to an existing 218 ton chiller at Building 11 and the replacement of an existing chiller at Building 10. The project includes replacing DX cooling coils in six air handling units with chilled water coils which will be supplied from the new chilled water loop. The DX condensing units associated with all these systems will be removed. The new chilled water piping loop will be installed on the outside of Building 11 and will include the installation of new pumps and will require the installation of piping support structures. The project will include work on 15 air handling unit systems in Buildings 10 and 14 air handling unit systems in Building 11. Internally lined ductwork will be removed and replaced with externally insulated ductwork. The air handling units will be refurbished by replacing the insulation on the inside of the units. Work on the air handling systems will include the installation of energy recovery units to supply outdoor air. A pre-bid site visit will be held. Meeting and site visit details are provided in this solicitation. TYPE OF CONTRACT AND NAICS: This RFP will be for one (1) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract. The North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) for this effort is 238220 – Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors. TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: This acquisition will be a 100% Small Business Set-Aside procurement. CONSTRUCTION MAGNITUDE: The magnitude of this construction project is anticipated to be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, in accordance with DFARS 236.204.
