The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking expressions of interest for a non-exclusive five-year lease of a railroad transportation corridor at Rock Island Arsenal, located between Davenport, Iowa, and Rock Island, Illinois. The property includes approximately 5,060 linear feet of railroad trackage and associated bridge structures, covering about 3.485 acres. The intended use is the operation and maintenance of the corridor for rail traffic, including track and bridge maintenance, vegetation management, and regulatory compliance. The successful lessee will be responsible for all operations, inspections, maintenance, and compliance with Federal Railroad Administration requirements. Expressions of interest are due by June 19, 2026, and must include qualifications, proposed use, and railroad operating experience.
