SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY DISPOSAL AREA 60
USACE Wilmington District is conducting market research for a geotechnical subsurface investigation at Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Disposal Area 60 in Onslow County, North Carolina, to collect soil and strength parameters for slope-stability analysis of the existing dike and foundation soils. DA 60 is approximately 20 acres, located 1.25 miles southeast of the NCWRC Cedar Point Boat Ramp in Cedar Point, NC, and is accessible only by water vessel, so the contractor must arrange all marine transportation. The work includes mobilization of personnel, equipment, and materials; 11 CPT soundings to 50 feet or refusal greater than 20 feet; laboratory testing; USCG-compliant vessels; and compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements with USACE coordination. Interested firms with NAICS 541360 should provide capability statements of up to 30 pages covering firm/contact/SAM/business-size and socio-economic information, evidence of two comparable projects within the past seven years, CPT rig documentation meeting the specified cone/sleeve parameters, geographic and project-size capability, and any teaming arrangements. This is market research only and does not obligate the Government to award a contract.
