Post the Bid Results Project consists if the annual maintenance dredging of Ventura Harbor federal navigation channel and sand traps, with placement of dredge material on the nearby downcoast South Beach. The proposed 3 year maintenance dredging contract contains a base dredging period (1st cycle) and two option periods (2nd and 3rd cycles), with a completion time of approximately 50 days per dredge cycle. Amount of dredging is dependent upon federal funding and amount of available material within the dredge prism for each dredge cycle. The typical range of quantity dredged is 300,000 cubic yards to 600,000 cubic yards per dredge cycle. Design channel depths vary from -20 ft to -40 ft MLLW. The first dredge cycle is scheduled to commence approximately February 1st, 2022. Magnitude of the Proposed Project: $10,000,000 to $20,000,000. Minimum contractor capabilities required include: 1. Previous dredging experience with similar magnitude in quantity and complexity. Must have previous experience dredging in open ocean environments. 2. Contractor must be able to sustain a minimum production of 20,000 cubic yards per day. 3. Contractor must be able to dredge in a range from 0.0 to -40.0 ft (MLLW). 4. Must be able to maintain a submerged pipeline crossing in navigation channels without impact to shipping and boating activity. 5. Must be able to dredge material ranging from Fines, Sand, Gravel, and Cobbles. Other materials encountered may include tires, trash, debris, etc. 6. Must meet all bonding requirements. 7. Must have an Air Quality Permit from the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (or State of California Air Resources Board) that allows contractor to dredge the contract volumes. 8. All vessels and equipment must be certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. 9. Equipment must have the ability to operate in open water (outside line of demarcation). This acquisition is being solicited as an Unrestricted IFB and will be awarded under FAR Part 14 Sealed Bidding. The solicitation will be issued on 10 November 2021 with a bid opening date of 10 December 2021. The anticipated award date is within 14 days of the bid opening date.
