The Government intends to acquire spare parts on a Sole Source basis from Wartsila Italia S.p.A. The contemplated spare parts are necessary for the Government to maintain electrical generators, Currently being operated at Del Din, Vicenza, Italia, for which Wartsila Italia S.p.A. is the original manufacturer. The intends to acquire the spare parts on a sole source basis because only Wartsila Italia S.p.A. spare parts are compatible Wartsila Italia S.p.A. electrical generators. I list of the contemplated spare parts are depicted in attachment 1. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Only one responsible source and noother supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase will be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with: Federal Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b) for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold of $250,000. Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by submission of data that demonstrates full compatibility with the Wartsila Italia S.p.A. electrical generator. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government and must be received prior to the closing date of this notice. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this proposed award is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
