This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 12.6, “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Products and Commercial Services,” as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested, and a written solicitation document will not be issued. This solicitation is a request for quotations (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2024-03. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 115310, with a small business size standard of $11,500,000. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rend Lake Project Office, 11981 Rend City Rd., Benton, IL, is seeking contractors who will mark the timber stands for selective cut thinning utilizing a fixed circular plot method with a basal area factor of 6-8. The contractor will mark trees to be cut for timber sale within the units with orange paint. The contractor will provide a valuation of the trees marked for cutting. The contractor will mark trees to be thinned with blue paint. Desired basal area will be achieved with a combination of cut tree marking and thinning tree marking to achieve the greatest benefit to timber stand health and wildlife value.
