The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District is seeking a firm to complete the following goals: 1. Restore side channel connectivity, depth, and structural diversity 2. Increase acreage protected from coarse sediment deposition 3. Restore wetland ecosystem resources 4. Restore floodplain forest communities The work for this project has been broken down into construction phases. The first phase has been awarded and construction is complete. Stage 2, which is the focus of this effort, is the excavation of the Crains Island side channel and re-use of the material as elevated ridge habitat and/or remnant channel fill. Large tree clearing for this effort has already been completed as part of the Stage 1 construction. However, smaller vegetation has likely taken hold in the work areas and will need to be removed as necessary to accomplish the work. Footage is from November 2022; however there has been no construction at the project area so the features shown are up to date. Amendment 0001-amendment is to answer requests for information; clarify bid schedule quantities and units of measure;incorporate new attachments 4 and 5; and extend the bid due date and bid opening.
