The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans a maintenance dredging project for the Calcasieu River Ship Channel (Mile 5.0 to 17.0) in Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes, LA, with material disposal in marsh creation areas within Sabine National Wildlife Refuge, including optional work at Devil’s Elbow. The contract will be an unrestricted invitation for bid (IFB) with a firm fixed-price structure, and the construction cost is estimated between $25 million and $100 million. The base work has an estimated completion time of 300 calendar days after notice to proceed, and the solicitation is expected to be issued on or about 17 August 2026 via SAM.gov only.
