The project requires dredging the Bayou Teche, East and West Calumet Floodgates, Approach Channels, Maintenance Dredging, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. The work consists of the removal of shoal material from within the Wax Lake Outlet approach channels to the East and West Calumet Floodgates, and satisfactory disposal of dredged material into the Wax Lake Outlet channel below the -35’ contour. (The estimated time of completion is 60 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. The solicitation will include 5 drawings and specifications). All work is to be done in areas subject to the ebb and flow of the tide, are below the mean high tide and are presently used and have been used in the past for the transport of interstate and foreign commerce. These areas are part of the Navigable Waters of the United States (33 CFR 329) Accordingly, work will be performed within areas where the Federal Government can assert its superior rights of the NW-US under the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution. Access for to the disposal sites shall be restricted to the Bayou Teche waters. SEE ATTACHED PRESOLICIATION NOTICE.
