Services required for the Geotechnical Engineering IDC/IDIQ include by not limited to: Geotechnical analysis, geotechnical engineering and design and preparation of plans and specifications for District design projects. Analyses pertaining to levee design and construction on soft soils, such as settlement and slope stability analyses. Geologic and seismic hazards investigations, including, but not limited to, ground motion hazard analyses, site response analyses, liquefaction evaluation and mitigation. Field Exploration and Laboratory Testing: Investigate terrestrial and maritime or water borne sites to define soil and/or rock properties, fault locations, and groundwater levels and flow. Drilling and analysis tasks may consist of core drilling, grab sampling, and instrumentation installation on either land or bodies of water such as bays and deep draft navigation channels. In-situ testing may include Cone Penetration Testing and vane shear testing, and shear wave velocity measurement. Laboratory testing will include typical physical geotechnical tests, such as moisture content, dry density, Atterberg Limits, gradation, consolidation, and strength testing. Testing shall be performed by an Army Corps accredited laboratory. Construction Services: Geotechnical engineering services during construction may include QC or QA inspection. Dam and Levee Safety: annual and periodic inspections of dams and levees. Independent External Peer Reviews (IEPR) of dam and levee projects: independent assessment of the project or work product, including the panel's assessment of the adequacy and acceptability of the economic, engineering, and environmental methods, models, data, and analyses used as well as the range of alternatives, and the adequacy of risk and uncertainty analyses.
