This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project entitled, Dixmoor Water Main Replacement - Section 219, Dixmoor, IL. (USACE Acquisition)." PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract, the contractor will provide service to install approximately 3,650 linear feet of 12?inch water main from the intersection 143rd Street and Robey Avenue to Leavitt Avenue and onto Seeley Avenue, ending just south of the railroad tracks. Sixteen existing 6? and 8?inch mains will be cut and capped throughout the project area. The existing mains that will be capped are inaccessible which prevents the Village of Dixmoor from monitoring, repairing, and maintaining the current infrastructure which may be contributing to ongoing water loss issues. The new main will be connected at four points along the existing distribution system and will increase flow capacity to the north side of Village as well as replace the existing, aged water main along Leavitt Avenue. The proposed project area is between the intersection of Seeley Avenue and the railroad tracks south of 139th Street to the north and 145th Street to the south, encompassing the area between Western Avenue to the west and Robey Avenue to the east. . The North American Industry System Classification Code is 237110, with a small business size standard in dollars of $39.5 Million. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Solicitation (Invitation for Bids – “IFB”) will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Once the package is released into advertisement at this website ("SAM.gov"), interested bidders may download the full package, includes: specification and drawings files The Solicitation package is planned for advertisement on or about the November 2022 to December 2022 timeframe, with bids due 30 days after the posting of the announcement.
