This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project entitled, "Calumet City Pump Station Upgrades, City of Calumet, IL, County of Cook (USACE - Chicago District Project)" PROJECT INFORMATION This project is located in Calumet City, Illinois at approximately the intersection of Yates Avenue and 143rd Street. The project includes the following: replacement of two existing vertical turbine pumps and one submersible pump with three new submersible type pumps with motors and accessories; installation of new hatches and guiderail pump removal systems for all pumps; replacement of the existing float switches with a new transducer and backup float switches; replacement of the existing generator with a new diesel generator with automatic transfer switch sized to stagger start all the pumps; installation of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) panel and integration with the master computer for alarm notification and operational system status; construction of site improvements, including restoration and fencing. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The North American Industry System Classification Code is 237110, with a small business size standard in dollars of $36.5M. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Solicitation package (Invitation for Bids - "IFB") will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY.
