This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project entitled, " City of Hobart, 6th Street Sanitary Sewer Improvement, CIty of Hobart, IN, County of Lake (USACE - Chicago District Project)" PROJECT INFORMATION: This project is located in the City of Hobart and includes but is not limited to the two sections of sewer improvements along 6th Street; (1) 6th Street Gravity Sanitary Sewer Improvements - West. The sub-project consists of sanitary sewer collection and conveyance system improvements to serve 18 customers along the 6th Street corridor to the west of Indiana Street. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, construction of: 8-inch sanitary sewer, manholes, tee-wyes, sewer service laterals, and surface restoration. It is anticipated that all construction will be located within the existing road right-of-way; and (2) 6th Street Low Pressure Sewer Improvements - East. The sub-project consists of sanitary sewer collection and conveyance system improvements to serve 20 customers along the 6th Street corridor to the east of Gilbert Court. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, construction of: small diameter low-pressure sanitary force main, low-pressure grinder pump stations, sewer service laterals, and surface restoration. It is anticipated that all construction will be located within the existing road right-of-way. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The North American Industry System Classification Code is 237110, with a small business size standard in dollars of $36.5M. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Solicitation package (Invitation for Bids - "IFB") will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Once the package is released into advertisement at this website ("Federal Business Opportunities"), interested bidders may download the full package, includes: specification and drawings files. The Solicitation package is being advertised on 23 August 2013, with bids due by September 24, 2019.
