This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project entitled, "FORT SHERIDAN COASTAL RESTORATION PHASE II CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS." PROJECT INFORMATION: This project's goal is to install lacustrine reef habitat structures off the shore of the existing Ft. Sheridan Ecosystem Restoration project location. The purpose of the structures is to create lacustrine habitat that would otherwise be created during the normal erosion process, which is limited by development in the area. Three types of reef design were developed in consultation with the Shedd Aquarium and are proposed for installation: Dome Reefs, Linear Reefs and Sand Bar Structures. The North American Industry System Classification Code is 237990, with a small business size standard in dollars of $36.5 Million. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated at between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Solicitation (Invitation for Bids -"IFB") will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY.
