This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project entitled, "CITY OF WHITING, INDIANA WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS - SECTION 219, LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA (USACE ACQUISITION)" PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract, the contractor will be required to replace the existing the existing water main located in Whiting, Indiana along Center and 119th Streets. The existing water main is undersized and beyond its useful life, and will be replaced with an 8-inch water main. The project includes installation of approximately 1,150 feet of 8-inch water main on Center Street, installation of approximately 6 Fire Hydrants, CIPP of existing sewer pipe consisting of approximately 800 feet of sewer pipe ranging in size from 18" to 21" in diameter, internally sealing approximately 4 existing sewer manholes, and alley pavement and parkway restoration. The North American Industry System Classification Code is 237110, with a small business size standard in dollars of $36.5M. The Solicitation package is planned for advertisement on or about January 8, 2019, with bids due on or about February 12, 2019.
