See the below USACE's clarifications to the below inquiries submitted by a contractor. An amendment will incorporate the information provided via this notice; the Amendment will be issued 2 April 2019. QUESTION #1: The new steel bollard casings, detailed on plan sheet S-505, are not called out specifically to be galvanized on the plan sheet. We also did not see a direct reference in the specifications and would like to know if they will be required to be hot dipped galvanized. USACE RESPONSE TO QUESTION #1: Per plan sheet S-505 and specifications as noted, there is no requirement, stated or implied, to galvanize the casings. QUESTION #2: A question came up concerning the rebar to be used in the new concrete work. The specifications do not mention whether or not new rebar needs to be epoxy coated rebar. Given the wet nature of the project we are asking if that needs to be accounted for or if non-coated bar can be used. USACE RESPONSE TO QUESTION #2: Per Specification 03 30 00 and the Structural plan sheets, there is no requirement, stated or implied, for epoxy-coated rebar.
